The fate of a Salisbury man is in the hands of High court Judge, Justice Wynante Adrien-Roberts, who will hand down her sentence against him next month following his conviction of buggery of a minor.

After a one-week trial, a nine-member jury yesterday, June 22, 2022, handed down a guilty verdict against him for the offense of buggery against a 12-year-old boy. The incident occurred on July 24, 2016, in Salisbury.

The prosecutionâs case was led by a state attorney attached to the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Daina Matthew, while Peter Alleyne of the Legal Aid Clinic represented James.

Following his conviction, Justice Adrien-Roberts ordered a Social Inquiry Report on James to be handed in on or before July 15, 2022, and submissions from the defense and prosecution, before handing down her sentence
The date for sentencing was set for July 22, 2022
James is now on remand in custody at the Dominica State Prison awaiting his sentence
